About Me

Helloooo I'm Alex and my life revolves around music and having fun. I refuse to change for anyone as I feel people should like me for who I am and not for who I become!

I do not like people who don't care about other people. Self Centered people aggravate me a lot!

I love to have fun and a laugh too! I have a loud laugh which makes all my mates laugh(I don’t know why!) and I get along with everybody.

I am very ambitious and when I say I'll do something I’ll do it!

Freelance Music and Entertainment Journalist.

NOW HERE IS SOME BORING STUFF ABOUT ME

I am a Student Journalist current studying The BTEC National Diploma in Media Production which includes journalism, photography, radio and film studies.

“I am delighted to have been offered a place at Goldsmiths University of London starting in September 2008 where I will be studying BA Hons in Media and Communications”.

At the moment I contribute to my college magazine called "Scoop" which is distributed free of charge to the Students and covers all 6 campuses at the Central Sussex College. I also do interviews and photography for Europunk, which is an online music website that is based in Belgium but covers the World Wide Web and apart from that I also contribute to the Brighton and Sussex Universities Student Network website, where I am a member of their Editorial Team and I write monthly blogs about my experiences and do Interviews for them and finally I am pleased to say that I am also contributing to another online magazine called  Creature Magazine so please check it out on: http://www.creaturemag.com/blog/?p=27

To enhance my career as a Young Music Journalist, I try to get involved as much as can with the media so I arrange my own interviews with bands and write articles on Record Labels as well as Reviews on Albums, Bands, Venues, Mainstream Music, Gigs, books and Movies and I do all this work on a voluntary basis free of charge.

I am a member of the NUJ (National Union of Journalists) and have a NUJ Press Pass.

In the past I was given Press Access for many events including The Indy Music Awards, Chelsea Player of the Year Awards (where I was lucky enough to meet some of the players and mix with some press professsionals), I also had press accreditation and backstage access for the entire duration of the Glastonbury Festival 2007 (where I attended a press conference with the owners of the farm which hosts the festival, Michael and Emily Eavis, and I felt honoured to meet and take pictures of them) and to explore other areas of Journalism I was also given press accreditation for the Travel Destinations Show at the Earls Court early last year where I met the Travel Editor of The Sunday Times.

"My goal is to qualify as a Music/Showbiz Journalist" where I would like to contribute to successful magazines such as Kerrang , Alternative Press Magazine, OK! , Metal Hammer, NME  Q Magazine as well as some fashion magazines. I am even considering publishing my own entertainment magazine.
I  not only do interviews but I also do photography and am interested in Media Broadcasting so hope to do some work for TV and Radio in the future.

At the moment I am doing work experience for the Sussex and Brighton Universities where I contribute to the Student Network website which is aimed at Vocational Students already studying in Sussex and people considering taking a vocational course. I am part of the Editorial Team and was 1 of 8 Media Students chosen from Colleges in Sussex to take part on this project. You can find out more and read all the interesting articles by visiting the website: www.studentnetworksussex.co.uk

I have written an article about the Glastonbury Festival and my experiences there, which has been published in the Sussex Student Network and I have also created a “montage” with the pictures that I took from the live Acts which can be viewed on my Youtube page under my username AidenQueen at http://uk.youtube.com/user/AidenQueen

Apart from that I have opened a special “Glastonbury” page on this website where I have put pictures, videos and links.  Please check it out on: GLASTONBURY

In addition to that, I take photos for Europunk and my Myspace photography page and you can see them on the following websites: www.myspace.com/alexgigphotography and www.europunk.net/members.php?id=3106
(my member profile at Europunk is Devoted To Music).

I am pleased to say that currently I am also contributing to another online magazine called  Creature Magazine so please check it out on: http://www.creaturemag.com/blog/?p=27

Apart from contributing to online magazines I also broadcast all my audio interviews on youtube by creating video clips and adding the photos that I take of the bands from live shows, so whilst listening to interview you can also watch a slideshow of photos taken by me. Please check out my yourtube page on http://uk.youtube.com/user/AidenQueen or just click on the INTERVIEWS on the side of this page.

I enjoy travelling and learning about other people’s culture. I can speak some Spanish and hope to translate all my interviews into Spanish and create another website in Spanish so I can broadcast myself and get understood by people from other countries.

I am proud to say that I am very familiar with many venues where I have been given backstage and press access. Some of these venues are the Carlling Brixton Accademy, London Barfly, London Astoria, Earls Court, Leeds Harewood House, Brighton Concorde, Brighton Dome, Brighton Centre, London Bull and Gate Pub, London Meanfidller, the 02, Harlequin Theatre in Redhill and many more.

Now that you learnt so much about me, please browse through my website and leave a comment on the guest book.

I will be keeping this site updated on weekly basis so keep on coming back.

Hope to see you soon.
